Jay dee was supposed to produce the album but was sick and at the end of his life as they were making it. That's why he only contributed 2 tracks and Kanye took over
My question is on "Love Is…" how did J dilla phase out the vocals? The B-Side version of Marvin Gaye's "God is Love" is in mono, and you can only phase out vocals on a stereo track. Somebody let me know
Common has definitely evolved i still digg his music but we need more resurrection and like water he gone left field lately but I appreciate his growth
🎉🎉❤❤ One of my recurring favorite albums…and Common turned out to be repeatedly one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. Can’t say that for every artist…
As a Chicagoan, “BE” is an album that is a time capsule of Chicago during the 70’s and 80’s. Common is talking about places, people and situations with soulful music, that where lived experiences. “The Corner” and “Faithful”, 🔥🔥🔥
Great video.. This has been one of my favorite albums since I heard it my sophomore year in highschool. This is one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time forreal.
Very off topic to the video, but I’m curious if you can resample some of Ants beats from atmosphere, or any rhymesayers music. Love the videos thank you!

So “Be (Intro)” randomly was queue’d for me by Spotify, and I’m like “damn, this beat is fire” then I discovered Kanye produced it. I wasn’t shocked

Man to me LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE is COMMON'S best album of all,Be is second.
How that album didn't even get a nod by the powers that be at the Grammys is truly beyond me.
I am gonna bump both albums tomorrow✌🏿🇿🇦 much love to you and your channel brother.
